Being visible in Leeds with Think Visibility

Well I’ve just returned from my first ever Think Visibility conference in Leeds organised by the amazing Dom Hodgson.

Not knowing what to expect from this sort of event I went along with my eyes and ears open hoping to pick up some nuggets of information. I have to say that the event was amazingly well organised with some great talks.

I was fortunate to be one of the speakers on the site clinic with Dave Naylor, Karl Blanks and Kieron Donoghue. I just wanted to say thanks to my fellow site clinic buddies and to the 3 website owners of Wall Glamour, Sci Fi Blog and Eighteen Sixty Five for being brave enough to submit their sites for our critique.

I was also really impressed with Gary Taylor’s talk on Keyword Domains and Mini-Sites – this has given me a real insight and has sparked loads of ideas. Ian Pouncey’s talk on Practical Accessibility was also fascinating, as was Karl Blanks’s slot on Gruesome Conversion Killers.

So I’d just like to thank Dom again for a fantastic event, roll on the next one.

For those of you interested in my site clinic design findings then head on over to my personal blog WebsiteDesign.org.uk and see the before and after designs.

  2. Hi Michelle

Thanks for the mention, I’m glad you enjoyed the presentation

Just want to respond and say that your design work is excellent. It is great to see a designer who is so switched on in terms of site conversion, a real attribute to have!

Chris C was singing your praises last night and showing off your infamous msdos sitemap on websitedesign.org.uk to me, ha ha. Its ace!

    All the best

    Gary

  3. Absolutely brilliant work. I was really impressed with the time and effort you put into the work – and having been to many site clinics over the years, this by offered the best value and iput, enhanced by the work you put in!

  4. Hi Michelle,

You did a fantastic job on the panel.

I’ve just taken a look at WebsiteDesign.org.uk. Nice work. You should submit it to Smashing Magazine.

We were so busy trying to give useful advice to the owners of Wall Glamour, Sci-Fi Blog and Eighteen Sixty-Five, I later noticed that we forgot to give them any kind of credit for what they’d already achieved. They deserve some kind of medal for having had the guts to submit their sites for review.

    Karl
